A lot has happened since the last time I posted. Let's recap.
The same day I posted the last journal, I went to the ER. They did some blood work/xrays, told me it was reflux and to follow up with the gastroenterologist, and sent me on my way. Needless to say, I was not satisfied with my care.
The 9 days that followed were agony. I learned that Ensure is gross. My throat kept getting worse and worse and hurting more an more. I had a bout of reflux that lasted for 5 hours one night, my throat and vocal chords on fire. The next day, my throat was raw and my voice was hoarse. I had to start sleeping in the recliner to keep myself upright at night. I cried. A lot. Then finally, the day of my appointment arrived.
The gastroenterologist was the first doctor to do a proper exam. He actually touched my throat and looked in my mouth. When he did so, he remarked that I very obviously had oral thrush, and that it was most likely in my esophagus as well. Turns out the antibiotics the first doctor put me on gave me a yeast infection from hell in my throat. Then every doctor I saw after that proceeded to misdiagnose the malady because they never did a proper exam. So I had to suffer almost 3 weeks without proper care, resulting in my dropping 12 lbs. The gastro set me up on a 2 week regimen with meds and also set me up for xrays and an endoscopy so we can address the reason I actually came to him, my reflux and possible throat-narrowing.
That was a week ago. My throat is on the mend, and I already had my special xray (called a barium swallow) yesterday, but I'm still waiting on the results of that. I still can't really eat anything. I miss food. I'm trying to keep my anxiety down, to keep calm, but feeling the natural urge to eat but having your body deny you the ability is really psychologically damaging.
I'll keep you guys posted on how things go. I just want to feel normal again, but I have a feeling it's going to be a long while before that happens.

Hey there, dA. My life has gotten better.
*opens door with a creak, brushes dust off of a chair, and takes a seat* Hey there. Am I still relevant to anyone? Long time no see. It's been over a year since I've posted a journal, so I think it's high time I talked about where I am, both in life and artistically.
If you're reading this, you probably started following me years ago and have seen my sparse postings in the past that my life hasn't been all that great the past few years. I'll try to do a brief recap and just a basic run-down of the past few years and how I've been.

This is the year my hiatus from writing, drawing, everything artistic really started. I had kind of
Getting better, but it's an uphill battle
Hey all. It's been quite a while since I posted anything, so I thought I would catch you up to speed on how things have been.
I had surgery to move my bastard gallbladder at the end of August last year. Unfortunately, things didn't get better after surgery at first, so we looked at pursuing more options. In September, I was scheduled to take a ph test, which is a horrid test where you have to wear a catheter in your throat through your nose for 24 hours to measure how often you reflux and how high it goes, etc. By this point and time, my mental health, which was already not great to begin with, was circling the drain. I was having daily
Health Update (Again)
This summer has not been a very good summer for me, if that wasn't already obvious, lol.
It took 3 weeks to clear out the oral and esophageal thrush (normally takes 2 weeks, but I got an extra week because it was still not gone at the end of 2). I had an endoscopy done on the 6th of July, which found I had gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining). My follow-up was scheduled for the 28th, so I got to wait after that. I was fully able to eat again, so that was a plus, but in between the scope and the follow-up, I started experiencing pain in my upper abdomen a couple hours after eating, as well as some pretty severe chest and back pai
Health is taking a nosedive
I've had trouble with reflux off and on since I was pregnant with my daughter back in 2009. In 2014, I had a bad bout of it, and it caused the unintentional hiatus I've been on with my fanfics.
In the past month, my health has been getting worse. I started having trouble swallowing things, particularly medications. I went to a doctor, and they referred me to a gastroenterologist. They set an appointment for the 16th, almost a month away at the time. Now, 9 days out from my appointment, I'm pretty much down to a liquid diet. I can get bigger globs of food down, but the problem is bits tend to get stuck near the top of my throat (most l

It is terrible to hear you are in poor health. It sounds like your on the right track for getting help. Hopefully the doctors will find a way to make you feel better and you'll quickly get back to the normal you want to feel.
